Fisher Smith Ltd commits to net zero emissions by 2050

We have developed a detailed plan for reducing carbon emissions, aligning with the protocols set by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and ISO Net Zero Guidelines (IWA 42:2022). You can click through to see the document that sets out our roadmap to reach net zero, outlining the strategic measures and initiatives we will implement to reach this goal.

Our main initiatives include:

  • We'll look to reduce business travel by air.
  • By engaging with our employees, we look to reduce their commuting emissons. We'll explore both EV salary sacrifice and car-pooling schemes.
  • We already have all company vehicles as EVs. We plan to maintain this as a policy going forwards
  • To reduce energy wasted in heating, we'll invest in energy efficiency measures, such as: heating controls; water heating controls; draught proofing; wall insulation. Within the next one year, we'll look to replace our existing heating system with an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP).
  • In addition, we will review our main procured services and look to reduce the carbon associated with them.
  • We will review our processes to minimise material waste
  • To lower our electricity use, we'll explore the following measure actions: installing more energy-saving controls . To reduce our total energy use, we'll look to: implement comprehensive energy monitoring; review our processes to reduce energy waste; ensure more staff get energy-saving training . By exploring 'time-of-use' tariffs and working to change our operations, we hope to increase the proportion of lower carbon electricity used.
